  • This week's Prayer Times - Fajr at 5:45am, Asr at 3:30pm and Ishaa at 7pm.

  • The next community meeting is Sunday March 9th @ 1:30pm at Darul Quran. 7 people have been selected to serve on the Majlis- Ibrahim Abdul-Qawiyy, Iman Abdush-Shakur, Mustafah Abdush-Shakur. Aqil Hashim. Jimmy Jones, Ismail Jibrin and Gohar Mushtaq. The next Majlis meeting is Sun Feb 23 @ 1:30pm.

  • The Brotherhood committee- On Tue & Thurs from before Maghrib in the Masjid there is a brother’s Quran/Islamic study halaqa.

  • For sisters - BEGINNERS Arabic Class on Fridays from 6pm-8pm  at Darul Quran.

  • Family Activities:
    Save the Date - Masjid Al Islam's youth retreat April 11-13 VOLUNTEERS WANTED contact amir@masjidalislam.net to volunteer.
    The Sat Feb 23 Youth Retreat Dinner sale Is POSTPONED one week until Mar 1, to raise funds for the retreat. They are taking orders now.

  • Please give generously to cover the expenses of the Masjid. One of the best ways is through direct deposit. WE NEED THE STABILITY.
    We are collecting special pledges and donations to hire an Imam and renovate Masjid property. We just obtained 53 & 55 Gilbert from DEEN Inc. Please give or pledge today!

  • Save the Date - Volunteers needed: April 11-13 Youth Retreat. Contact Matiniah Yahya at matiniahyahya@yahoo.com or 203-865-5805.

  • Save the Date - March 14-16 - 2 courses sponsored by Greenwood Institute (a joint venture of the Masjid Al Islam & Cordoba University) Introduction to Arabic Course by Imam Abu Ayman and Culturally Specific Counseling Muslims by Dr. Jimmy Jones. Open to the public- CEU’s will be available.
    Also, a Free Islam 101 course is planned for the downtown New haven Public Library with 2 left Tuesday -Wednesday Feb , 26-27. There are only 25 seats in each class. The committee is looking for a small group to organize a fundraising dinner in the Fall, inshallah.

  • The new Islamic Studies class for males and females is Sunday on the 2nd floor of the Masjid -11am-1pm. Contact Bro Saifuddin Hasaan. All are invited to attend.

  • Hajj Next Year-Persons interested in starting a hajj saving/educational group for next year should contact Bro Jimmy Jones

  • Summer Program for Young Men (ages 13-17) at Madrassa Rahaliya In Morroco (near Marrakech).
    - Intensive Qur’an Memorization  Jul 1 - Jul 30, 2008 
    - Free room and board
    - Traditional instruction. Physical discipline prohibited.
    - Full time school with over 30 years  of operation
    - Students will be chaperoned by full time American student of knowledge.
    - the  Students would be responsible for airfare
    - Space very limited (10-15)

  • STILL SEEKING IMAM - Masjid Al-Islam, a 20 year old Muslim community located in an urban area of New Haven CT is seeking a qualified Imam who would be responsible for Islamic religious, educational, counseling and outreach activities of the Masjid. This person must be able to work well with a multicultural population, youth and the Majlis Ash-Shurah board.

    Since the population includes Muslims from many countries and Muslims born in the US, it would be helpful if this person were familiar with varied aspects of the shariah. As this is a community with limited resources, contract would include a modest stipend and a one family residence located directly behind the Masjid.
