Speakers Bios
Sh. Yasir Qadhi Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, Texas and completed his primary and secondary education in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences.
Thereafter, he completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah. He is currently pursuing his doctorate, in Religious Studies, at Yale University.He is an active memember of Masjid Al Islam and a consultant to Masjid Al Islam's Majlis,while teaching at AlMaghrib Instiute. Maghrib Instutute he teaches the Light of Guidance and the Light Upon Light seminars, which focus on aqeedah.

Sister Khalidah Bilal Sister Khalidah Bilal embraced Islam in the Summer 1992. Born 1966 in London to Jamaican parents, she was brought up in a strict Christian home. She is married and the mother of two children. She graduated from the Aalim Program Dar Uloom Trinidad & Tobago July 7th 2007.

- Tafsir (commentary of the Holy Qur’an)
- Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence
- Balaagha (Arabic Literature)
- Miraath (Islamic Inheritance)

- Hifz (memorization of the Qur’an)
- Tajweed (the correct recitation of the Holy Qur’an in Arabic)
- Other subjects pertaining to Islamic Theology Beliefs – Aqidah according to Imam Tahaawi (accept by most scholars)
Sister Khalidah Bilal currently teaches in an Islamic school based in the Islamic Center of New England called, Mutanafisun Academy.
Sister Nethal Abdul-Mu'min Sister Nethal Abdul-Mu'min was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the age of 16, she departed for Syria to learn Arabic and stayed there for eight and a half years. During her course of study in Damascus, she graduated from the Dawah College of Abi Nour University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Arabic and Islamic studies.
In addition to her studies at the university, she also received an ijazah in tajweed of the Quran in the Hafs style of reading from Ustathah Samar Abu Ghaidah (a student of Sheikh Krayim Ar-Rajih) and two ijazah, one in Hafs and one in Warsh, from Ustath Anis Al-Hibri (a student of Sheikh Muhammad Sukkar). Since the completion of her studies abroad, she has offered classes in tajweed to students of all ages and has also offered instruction in other subjects such as marriage and Shafi’e fiqh.
Sister Nethal now resides with her husband, Brother Dawood Yasin, and their three daughters in Quechee, Vermont.
Directions to the Get-A-Way options
2 hours from Boston 2.5 hours from NYC 1 hour from Hartford. Nearest AMTRAK train station is Old Saybrook. If you are travelling to the Incarnation Center from out of state, you have a couple of options:
- Fly into any of New York City’s airports and from there get to Penn Station. There are a variety of ways to get to Penn Station from JFK, Newark and La Guardia. From there, take the Amtrak to Old Saybrook. It’s a 2 hour train ride from NYC. Upon arrival, you can get the Essex Taxi (860 767 7433.) Call about 20 mins. out from Old Saybrook for your cab to the Incarnation Center.
- Fly into Bradley International outside of Hartford and rent a car to drive to the Incarnation Center. You would then follow signs to I 91 South then to Rte 9 South and follow the printable directions from there.
- Fly into Boston and rent a car to drive to the Incarnation Center. Follow signs to I 95 south then follow the printable directions from there.
